Who we are, why our novels are so exciting, how it all began, why we love pulp novels and how two Whiskey Sours made the lives of thousands of readers a bit more exciting.
Who are Roberts & Maclay?
We are two friends who share a passion for telling gripping stories. Behind the pseudonyms lie 30 years of friendship, endless movie and series nights and a bunch of creative ideas. Originally, we had taken very different career paths – event and cultural marketing, graphic design, DJ, video artist and much more.
But a meeting in a Viennese bar changed everything.
That evening, M.C. Roberts had an idea for a novel. And as it is with good friends, a spontaneous conversation and two whiskey sours led to a joint project.
The rest, as they say, is history.

What makes our books stand out? Action, adventure and a good dose of excitement. Our stories are pulp fiction in its purest form – fast-paced, entertaining tales with clear heroes, villainous villains and exciting twists. Some would call them “dime novels”, but that doesn’t bother us one bit.
Our motto is: It’s like reading a blockbuster movie!
